New PCBN Inserts with Solid Corners for Improved Performance in Hard Turning
ISCAR expands the range of CBN inserts with innovative solid corners for improved performance and better impact resistance
* Improved productivity
* Economical alternative to solid CBN
The new solid corner PCBN inserts feature a very strong brazing connection between the new PCBN tip structure and the carbide body, due to the unique wavy tip profile and carbide insert body.
The new PCBN solid corner inserts are also far less affected by the heat generated in the soldering process and their heat absorption ability is improved due to the bigger tip size, compared to the tiny size of the regular PCBN tips.
The new solid tip structure guarantees better durability and greater impact resistance under interrupted cut conditions while machining hardened steels, and in heavy machining conditions of cast iron and powder sintered parts.
In many cases, the new inserts offer an economical alternative to the relatively expensive full PCBN inserts.
